Started as a family business in Giavera del Montello in Italy, Tecnica Group has grown into a worldwide sporting goods company. From its origins in the 1960s as a company focused on production of work boots, Tecnica Group has become one of the most advanced companies in the ski boot market and diversified its production to help it become one of the most important brands in the outdoor market.

“Our customers are active sports participants in skiing, skating, and hiking,” says Peter Weaver, CEO of Tecnica Group USA. “Simply stated, they expect us to deliver fun. We are providing people with products that are part of their recreation as well as their passion.”

Vacations are highly valued in today’s society – so many people enjoy having the ability to get away from their regular lives, find some time to relax and maybe explore a new destination. Sundance Vacations understands how important some time away and relaxation can be, and it strives to not only make vacationing easier for its clients, but also affordable.

Sundance Vacations was founded in 1991 by husband-and-wife team John and Tina Dowd. They had experience working in the timeshare industry in college and owned a couple of condos in the Poconos in Pennsylvania, when they decided to start a vacation company. The Dowds’ goal was to create a business model that was flexible and easy for customers to use when they wanted to vacation.

When it comes to managing, Santa Ana Star Casino keeps its eyes on the floor. The jovial sounds of guests enjoying gaming, dining and entertainment only happen because of the well-oiled operation. That’s not to say Santa Ana Star Casino is a stale employer. Far from it, the company won first place out of 75 of New Mexico’s largest employers in  Albuquerque Journal’s 2014 “Top Work Places” survey and was runner-up in 2013. “Fun” is one of its corporate culture tenets, but so is “dependability.”

“If you look up the definition of culture, it’s a group of people with shared values,” General Manager John Cirrincione says. “We created a value system here focused on a few key words – dependability, respect, honesty and fun, and we stick to those values. That’s why the culture is so strong – because we never negotiate them.”

The Orange County Convention Center is in the midst of a five-year $187 million capital improvement plan to upgrade its entire seven-million-square-foot complex. “Our mission is to continue our top-notch service to all of our clients during this renovation period,” Executive Director Kathie Canning says.

Since it first opened its doors in 1983, the Orange County Convention Center has grown from being a 150,000-square-foot event center serving its local community to one of the nation’s largest convention facilities. Today, the convention center, based in Orlando, Fla., offers more than two million square feet of exhibition space in two buildings and hosts more than 200 conventions, tradeshows, meetings, banquets, consumer events and public-ticketed events annually.

Name one place in the world where you can hear world-famous opera singers and symphonies, experience cutting-edge theater and innovative dance, and even participate in community-based activities outdoors. That one place is The Music Center in Los Angeles.

Perched on Bunker Hill, The Music Center is the home to world-class performing arts that it clusters inside its four theatres – the Mark Taper Forum and the Ahmanson Theatre, home to Center Theatre Group; the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, which houses the LA Opera and “Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center”; and the iconic Walt Disney Concert Hall built in 2003, where legendary performances by the LA Philharmonic and LA Master Chorale are performed inside the unmistakable architecture of Frank Gehry.

Ever since it opened for business in 1968, Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort has yet to miss a winter season. The resort operates on a special-use permit at Mt. Hood National Forest where it nurtures but also provides an outlet for guests to enjoy 2,150 acres of mountains and canyons ideal for winter activities. The Northwest getaway sits 90 minutes east of Portland and reaches 9,000 feet at its highest elevation.

“One thing that’s unique about Mt. Hood and about Mt. Hood Meadows’ particular location is that we are at a higher elevation than other ski areas on Mt. Hood,” CEO Matthew Drake says. “We are also located about 150 miles east of the Pacific ocean,  one of the greatest weather makers on earth. It’s very rare that we don’t have adequate natural snow accumulation. In fact, since 1966, we’ve had very few instances of low snow and we’ve never had a no-snow winter.”

Located in Keshena, Wis., Menominee Casino Resort has worked to become an all-in-one destination for individuals and groups by providing a complete gaming, lodging, dining and entertainment experience. The casino resort utilizes the Menominee Nation’s legacy in hospitality in order to create memorable experiences for everything from family outings to corporate events.

“Our board of directors makes sure we follow this path,” General Manager Jim Reiter says. “Our guests are looking for the most value for their gaming, dining, lodging and entertainment dollar. We provide that value in the heart of Wisconsin’s ‘Northwood’s Vegas,’ making it easy for guest to enjoy and explore the area’s best attractions.”

Founded in 2010, Digiplex Destinations has grown quickly as a theatrical exhibitor dedicated to turning its movie theaters into interactive digital entertainment centers. Striving to feature something for everyone, the company combines state-of-the-art technology and dynamic content that aims to surpass traditional cinematic experiences.

“Our founding purpose was to build a national platform that could provide more content choices in the digital era,” CEO and Founder Bud Mayo says. “Everything comes down to choice and content, like opera or sports, and Digiplex was founded to provide choices that would transform theaters into entertainment centers.”
