Sceptre Hospitality Resources is an innovative provider of advanced distribution technology and services for the hospitality industry. The company serves nearly 3,000 properties on its reservation platform, WindsurferCRS.

With a focus on flexibility for the hotelier and creating a memorable experience for the guest, WindsurferCRS provides optimal functionality for all types of properties. Other than its proprietary WindsurferCRS, its suite of products and services includes MotionNotes, a video messaging platform; SpaLinx, a spa management and appointment booking application; Whiteboard Labs, a custom web design and development lab; and Revenue Management for Hire, a revenue management solution for properties of all sizes and brand affiliations, the company says.

CanaDream’s corporate website refers to it as being in the business of offering RV/motor home rentals, but President and CEO Brian Gronberg sees the company differently. “The word ‘rental’ is a disservice to what our product really is, and that is the ‘experience of Canada, at your own pace’,” he says, noting the word appears on the site mainly for generic industry language and search engine optimization reasons. “I didn’t get into this business because I like motor homes, other than the experience they offer, because I don’t – they take a lot of effort to build properly and maintain.

Founded in 1946, Travel and Transport has grown into the fifth-largest travel management company in the United States. It serves clients throughout the country and around the world. Travel and Transport offers corporate travel solutions and vacation planning services designed to create one-of-a-kind experiences for corporate and leisure customers.

“We were the first company that offered group tours to Europe right after World War II,” Chief Operating Officer Tim Fleming says. “For many years, we were predominantly a leisure and tour company for trips to Europe. We became more involved in corporate travel in the 1970s and 1980s, and now our primary focus is on corporate business, working with many top companies around the world in a number of industries. Leisure is still a major part of what we do, and we focus a lot of energy on earning leisure business from our corporate accounts.”

Named after one of the greatest jazz icons of the 20th century, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is building a 21st-century terminal by 2018 that will upgrade the air travel experience and provide the amenities sought by passengers. “We handle 80 percent of all passengers coming into Louisiana,” Director of Aviation Iftikhar Ahmad points out. “We have specific conditions that we need to fix and an outdated facility that is over 50 years old. So when you start looking at those two major items, the response is the North Terminal project.”

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport has a rich history in aviation that began in 1946. The terminal layout does not take into account the new security procedures that are routine in air travel nowadays. For example, the four terminal concourses are not connected on the secure side and each has its own security checkpoint instead of having a single, consolidated checkpoint.

Founded in 1986, AmeriPark has built a leadership position in valet services to the retail industry with service extensions into numerous other segments, including restaurants, airports, hotels, stadiums and arenas, medical facilities, casinos and mixed-use facilities.

Every air traveler knows “parking” and “airport” are two words that do not usually go well together. Luckily, FreedomPark Airport Valet changes all that for patrons of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

Rather than driving in circles while searching for a parking spot and then waiting for trams and shuttles as they drag luggage, fliers who use FreedomPark Airport Valet’s service can simply drop off their cars with valets at the airport terminal and cruise directly to the ticket counter.

Once the valet is inside the “captured” auto, the mileage is recorded electronically. If the vehicle requires an oil change or other service such as auto detailing, fuel fill-up or dent repairs, this is offered via text message. FreedomPark Airport Valet washes about 750 automobiles per week, which represents a major component of its business.

A brand new location brings its own challenges and opportunities to this 77-year-old airport authority at the “crossroads of America”.

Originally built in 1931, the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) has become one of the largest and most popular in the country, serving 8.5 million passengers each year. To meet increasing demand, the airport relocated to a brand new facility with twice the capacity and more room to grow.

In 2011, more than 1.5 million passengers traveled through Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, an increase of more than 50 times the number of travelers who passed through the airport just five years earlier. With more traffic comes the need to improve and revamp the airport’s infrastructure, leading to some innovative and impressive projects.

Perhaps the most prominent example of this is the pedestrian tunnel being constructed under the Western Gap of Toronto Harbour. According to the Toronto Port Authority, the tunnel will link the airport to the mainland at the foot of Bathurst Street. As of right now, the port authority says, travelers must use a ferry to get from the city to the airport.
