The Club at Ibis

West Palm Beach, Fla.’s The Club at Ibis has become one of the finest gated communities in south Florida. A 1,900-acre community that currently has more than 1,800 residences, the property will consist of 1,864 homes at completion in 33 distinct communities.
“For 60 percent of our members, Ibis is their primary residence, while the rest are part-timers,” COO and GM Stephen J. LoGiudice says. “This is a diverse community in a great location that appeals to people who want the golf and resort-style environment.”

Something for Everyone

The Club at Ibis is designed to appeal to a diverse population of potential residents by providing a lifestyle that can cater to any need. The community features award-winning golf courses, tennis courts, a fitness center and spa, and ample dining options.
The golf offerings immediately stand out as a top amenity for The Club at Ibis. It is the only country club community to feature three Nicklaus-family designed golf courses. The Legend, the Heritage and the Tradition – created by Jack Nicklaus Sr., Jack Nicklaus Jr., and Steve Nicklaus – offer five different tee boxes for every skill level. Additionally, the community’s golf offerings include a 20-acre practice facility designed by Jack Nicklaus Sr. and featuring three chipping greens, five target greens, two putting greens and complimentary range balls.
“Our golf courses can be difficult if you play from the tips, but the forward tees can offer a different experience,” LoGiudice says. “We maintain our courses in great condition 12 months a year, and our director of golf course maintenance has 22 years of experience and is an exceptional talent in maintaining our facilities.”
Beyond the golf courses is the community’s 80,000-square-foot clubhouse and 24,000-square-foot sports village, featuring 16 hydrogrid tennis courts, pickleball courts and its fitness facility, pool and spa. The tennis courts are irrigated below the surface, which facilitates play that is much easier on the players’ knees and feet. As for the fitness facility, pool and spa, those amenities include on-site physical therapy, more than 70 cardio and strength machines, a wide array of aerobic classes, hot tub and sauna, massage and facial services, a nail salon, a resort-style pool and a 25-yard lap pool.
“It has been a busy three years, as we opened a new fitness facility in late 2014 and completed renovations on our clubhouse in October 2015,” LoGiudice says. “We did them in phases and made a commitment to members that they would not lose amenities as we went through the projects.”
Dining options are another standout element for The Club at Ibis. The Bistro features an open kitchen design and inside and outside seating, and offers breakfast, lunch or dinner and poolside dining. The Atrium provides panoramic views of the Legend golf course, an extensive buffet and intimate settings in the Alcove. The Pub is the community’s sports bar, including multiple TVs, a full-length bar and tables inside or on the 2,500-square-foot terrace that overlooks the 10th and 18th holes of the Legend. Lastly is Panache, a fine dining establishment that also has a chef’s table option inside the kitchen.
Additional onsite amenities include venues designed to provide enrichment opportunities for members, such as films, singing and cooking classes. The Club at Ibis is also located near the Palm Beach International Airport, I-95, the Florida Turnpike and the Grassy Waters Nature Preserve, making it easy for members to venture offsite for beaches, boating, fishing, wildlife excursion, shopping and dining opportunities.

Continuing Growth

Membership at The Club at Ibis requires buying a home in the community and purchasing one of four membership levels. Options for interested potential members include new homes that are under construction as well as resale homes. After joining The Club at Ibis, members and their guests can take advantage of all of the amenities that the community has to offer. Even though the community has been open for a quarter-century, it is still finding ample interest from new members.
“We had our best year ever last year, selling 138 homes and memberships,” LoGiudice says. “Right now we are pacing ahead of last year because we have the best value in the marketplace in terms of amenities and dues.”
Indeed, members play a key role in the evolution of The Club at Ibis. They vote on all of the community’s plans, so getting their feedback is critical when the community looks to make improvements as it has recently done. At present, The Club at Ibis is learning lessons after completing its new club and evaluating its direction as it considers what it should keep, add and adjust.
“It is very important for member-owned clubs to listen to their members’ likes and dislikes,” LoGiudice says.
Going forward, The Club at Ibis has one simple goal: to be the best value in the marketplace. To remain that way, it must continue to operate as efficiently as possible and ensure that it has the right amenities onsite so members have everything they need at their fingertips.
“We are focused on remaining a young, relevant club and providing the best value for new potential members,” LoGiudice says. “This is a secure, gated community with a diverse membership. Others are more expensive and don’t offer more amenities than we do, and that is why we can say we offer the best value in our marketplace, and it is why we continue to sell memberships at a high rate.”
