Under new ownership, Exploria Resorts is increasing its geographic footprint and growing its portfolio.

Known for its dynamic portfolio of vacation ownership opportunities, Exploria Resorts is increasing its geographic footprint and moving into full throttle expansion mode.

The brand represents a growing portfolio of hotels and resorts where guests can explore vacation ownership as well as rental and promotional marketing packages.

“We’re adding employees and expanding our marketing and sales activities,” says Thomas Morris, president and CEO. “Our three- to -five year plan is to double our operations.”

Exploria Resorts infoThe Orlando, Fla.-based company – that has built upon more than 20 years of success in the industry – underwent new ownership and a reorganization of leadership last year when an affiliate of Cerberus Capital Management acquired Exploria Resorts and Club Exploria, the brand’s exclusive vacation ownership Club.

A diversified hospitality, development and management company with a collection of family vacation destination resorts throughout Florida, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Missouri, Exploria Resorts added a new resort to its growing portfolio and opened an expansive new call center this year.

Investing In Renovations

In June, the company acquired the Villas at Treetops and Fairway located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. The 500-unit resort has been renamed Pocono Mountain Villas by Exploria Resorts. The resort is nestled adjacent to the 70,000-acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area which provides a picturesque and panoramic backdrop. It is being entirely renovated.

“We’ve just begun the renovation of roughly 20 percent of the units,” Morris says. “Our plan is to renovate all 500 units within the next five years.”

The resort offers a host of year-round, on-site activities and amenities that include an 18-hole par-71 golf course, designed by architect Nicolas Psiahas, tubing, horseback riding, hiking, boating and access snow skiing.

In addition, Exploria is renovating its oceanfront Grand Seas Resort in Daytona Beach, Fla. The resort has been undergoing reconstruction and renovation since 2017 when Hurricane Irma plowed through the area. The resort’s non-oceanfront units have already undergone a full reconstruction and renovation and are now available for occupancy with limited access to resort amenities. Construction on the oceanfront units is progressing with complete renovation targeted for the second quarter of 2019.

New Call Center

To support its growth, the brand has been focusing on expanding and capitalizing on its marketing and sales opportunities with a larger geographic footprint.

In February, the company purchased a new call center in Orlando, Fla. “We’ve added 90 plus new employees since February,” Morris adds. “This will allow us to grow our national marketing presence. Before 2017, we had very limited call center and marketing operations.”

Through Exploria Resorts and its Club Exploria vacation ownership program, promotional marketing packages to vacations in some of the most desirable destinations throughout the United States provide guests with introductory vacation stays to preview the advantages of vacation ownership that its more than 85,000 owners enjoy.

“In addition to our eight Exploria Home Resorts, Club Exploria members enjoy access to another 40-plus affiliated resorts around the world which further enhances their vacation opportunities” Morris says.
