Hamister Group opens its first Hyatt Place hotel in Niagara Falls.

A recognized leader in healthcare and hotel management, Hamister Group opened its first Hyatt Place hotel at Niagara Falls and is preparing to open a DoubleTree by Hilton in New York.

The company, which started operating healthcare facilities more than 41 years ago and moved into the hotel business in 2004, owns and operates 11 hotel properties throughout Indiana, Mississippi, New York and Pennsylvania. Aside from Hyatt and Hilton, Hamister Group’s other flagship hotels include Marriott, Choice Hotels and IHG.

Hamister Group infoHyatt Place Niagara Falls, the second Hyatt Place hotel in the Niagara Falls/Buffalo area, opened its doors in May. The new hotel features the Hyatt Place brand’s intuitive design, casual atmosphere and practical amenities, such as free Wi-Fi and 24-hour food offerings.

“We are very pleased,” says Jack Turesky, president and COO at Hamister Group. “The end product turned out terrific and I can see us doing more Hyatts in the future.”

Waterfall Views

The hotel sports smartly designed social spaces and 128 guestrooms with separate work and sleep areas. One block from Niagara Falls State Park, guests are treated to awe-inspiring views of the Niagara River’s three waterfalls, as well as unobstructed views from the Niagara Falls Observation Tower.

A free hot breakfast is available daily in the Gallery Kitchen featuring hot breakfast items, fresh fruit, steel cut oatmeal and Greek yogurt. The hotel also offers a 24/7 Gallery Menu & Market serving freshly prepared meals, packaged sandwiches and salads.

In addition, it has more than 6,600 square feet of flexible, high-tech meeting/function space and a 24-hour fitness center featuring cardio equipment with LCD touchscreens and an outdoor saltwater pool.

On The Horizon

Hamister Group’s DoubleTree by Hilton, a 147-room hotel redevelopment project with a 4,100-square-foot conference room for meetings and receptions of up to 375 guests, is scheduled to open in January 2019.

Hamister Group 2Hamister Group signed a franchise agreement with Hilton DoubleTree in 2014 for the re-development of the former Ramada in Jamestown, N.Y. It purchased the property in 2013. DoubleTree by Hilton is a full-service upscale brand under the Hilton Worldwide umbrella.

The hotel has become one of the largest private development projects in recent history for Jamestown. It is located roughly 90 minutes from Buffalo and features a patio, bar and restaurant.

Aside from Hamister Group’s hotel business, the company also operates six healthcare and assisted living facilities. It plans to open a new facility with 119 beds in Pittsburgh next year.

In addition, the company also has under contract an existing assisted living facility in Knoxville, Tenn. It plans to close on the deal in November. “We’d like to double the size of our business over the next two to four years,” Turesky says. “That includes both our hotel and healthcare side of the business.”
